Temporary pleasure is a touring installation of clubbing infrastructure and club-building workshops that responds to the death of the purpose-built nightclub. We transform vacant spaces into temporary venues and events through site-specific community workshopping.
From the radically enthusiastic ‘Piper' clubs of postwar Italy to the underground queer house party scene of pre-Stonewell New York. From Rave's one night stands in post-industrial urban buildings and the modern wave’s “meanwhile use” art-meets-nightlife spaces. The role of the club is to embody and challenge the here and now: A place, a scene, a moment.
And then to die.
And give way to the next thing.
